Seminar: the Rules and Exceptions of the ‘Without Prejudice’ Principle

A Seminar will take place on Tuesday, 20 September at the offices of Pini Franco LLP, 22-24 Ely Place, London EC1N 6TE, on the subject of “the Rules and Exceptions of the ‘Without Prejudice’ Principle”. The speakers will be: RICHARD MOTT of One Essex Court and Matilde Rota of Withers.

Richard Mott is an established barrister with a practice encompassing arbitration, energy, and banking and finance disputes. He also has a strong interest in cases addressing issues of civil fraud, where he has built up substantial expertise working for both claimants and defendants. He is noted for his work handling conspiracy claims and mis-selling allegations.

Matilde Rota of Withers will speak from the Italian perspective of Without Prejudice offers.

Matilde is a partner in the litigation and arbitration team. She focuses on the sports sector and represents clubs, athletes, agents and institutions in matters involving major dispute resolution bodies, such as the Court of Arbitration for Sport, the Italian Federal National Tribunal, the Italian Federal Court of Appeal, and the CONI Sports Arbitration Panel.

She also specialises in commercial and banking transactions. Her work focuses on judicial proceedings and strategies and often involves the application of international conventions and European laws in relation to the choice of jurisdiction and the enforcement of foreign judgments. She represents Italian companies in matters of civil litigation such as product liability, contract and credit recovery.
