Recent events such as the Covid-19 pandemic and the UK’s exit from the EU have had significant impact on the way we look at wills. Social distancing rules have forced a review of the formal requirements for Wills, while Brexit has made lawyers re-consider the application of the EU Succession regulation, as well as the proper construction and interpretation of a choice of law made by the Testator. Looking at recent cases, our speakers will give us a brief overview of how these issues are affecting the law and practice of wills and successions in the UK and Italy.
